It seems like after Kelly Clarkson, there hasn’t really been anyone from American idol to match the singing prowess and popularity of Miss Independent. I’m not the biggest fan of country music, with the exception of Alison Krauss (who btw has the #1 best selling album on Amazon.com right now) because no matter the genre, you can’t help but recognize talented artists!
However, I started listening to Carrie Underwood last week and I have to say, I’m a fan. Her songs are more a pop/country fusion than authentic twangy country tunes, but this is why she has become so successful in the mainstream. She has the best selling country album ever!
