Alive 2007 is Daft Punk’s second live album, following Alive 1997. The live compilation will be available in Europe November 19th, but December 4th in the US (due to production issues) but a digital version of the album will be available November 20th. The French duo are dishing out some crazy, wicked beats the world over and remind us of their greatest work. Or, the cynic might say, it reminds us of how Daft Punk are running out of ideas.
Daft’s latest full-length Human After All was welcomed with mixed reviews, fans noting that the material was repetitive and tiresome. Stylus Magazine stated “It’s the same story, track after track, willfully mistaking alternation for variation, intensification for development and dynamics. In other words, a shining example of pop songcraft in the 21st Century.” For the last handful of years, fans have been living off of remixes and edits to cure the Daft Punk-bug. Classics like “Digital Love” and “One More Time” will always have a soft spot in our hearts, but one has to wonder if Daft Punk is blanking out.
Fortunately, Daft Punk are regulars at notorious music festivals like Coachella and Vegoose, who in turn keep the music fresh and bumping. The first video for Alive 2007 has leaked onto Youtube.

that’s not ALIVE 2007. That’s from a bootleg from their old concerts (2006?, like Coachella). Check the concert that DPF has posted and compare them. Want a proof? Put “Touch it” and tell me why the robot doesnt sing “F*uck it f*uck it” ? or why when it says Burnin’ (on the “tracklist”) there’s no Burnin’? ah? That supposed ALIVE 2007 is fake. Sorry for my english
It’s certainly much better than the last album, which I felt was incredibly patchy. But this – this makes me want to shell out the small fortune they’re asking to go see them in December here in Oz.
