Alicia Keys Continues to Depress Us in the Best Way

November 7th, 2007 Posted in Entertainment

I was walking to work this morning when a giant poster of Miss Alicia Keys‘ gorgeous mug caught my eye. The poster screamed: Alicia Key’s new album “As I Am” hits stores Nov 13!! And then I screamed with excitement (well not literally, as I was surrounded by suits at the crack of the morn), because I <3 Miss Keys!

Apparently the next big single (after “No One“) off this album is reportedly “Like You’ll Never See Me Again.” Get a taste below:

I think out of the songs I’ve heard so far off this album, I like this one the most: what do you guys think?

In the New York Times article which recalls an interview with Keys, she says something really interesting about fame and being a celebrity: “Celebrity is like a drug. In its purest form you get well known for something that you do, that you do well. That’s a genuine emotion, and then you love what you do, and you want to share it with the world, and then people say: ‘Well, you’ve got to do this this this this this. In three days you’re doing seven countries, go.’ And you go, ‘O.K., well I’ve got to go, go go go go.” She added, “Instead of you living your life, your life is living you.”

Wise words from a level headed musician!

Here’s a little taste of the song on which she collaborated with John Mayer, “Lesson Learned.”

That is SUCH a nice cover too… I think after Delta Goodrem’s new DELTA effort (the very close face for cover art) I’m just REALLY in love with any record cover that adopts such a feel.

About to listen to the album now… Can’t wait!
