Listen to Jack Johnson – If I Had Eyes (YSI)

Jack Johnson has always been one of my favorite smooth blues crooners. He really had me reaching for a stuffed animal on his collaborated work with Ben Harper on the Curious George Soundtrack. For Jack Johnson’s newest cut, “If I Had Eyes” from his upcoming album Sleeping Through the Static, a teddy bear is not necessary. The switched the style up on us quite a bit. I still haven’t decided if I like it or not. My guess is yes… why? A slight Nickelback similitude with a slight folk-y vibe is about all I can think of as “Eyes” plays. So without a doubt, Jack Johnson won’t have any trouble staying hot on Hot AC radio (heh, I swear, my corniness will wear off soon. I blame lack of In-N-Out). . Sadly though, my third time spinning this song, I had to clean my pallet with some Continuum-action. Sigh. I miss “Upside Down”.
