New Music Hump Day: Hip Hop Madness + SMD. Heh mp3

Its a lazy and ultimately boring Hump Day. joy! But we’ve got our health… at least I hope so. Anyway, here are a few tracks that have recently suffered through my (not so) intense scrutiny. As you might notice, I was favoring hip-hop blogs/track today, which is why all of these tracks are hip-hop, go figure. Well for the exception of Simian Mobile Disco, but whatever. And before I’m off being a pratty, pretentious, wanna-be critic, or so they’ve said (freaks!), shout out to Music for Moodies, Chris-Pix, Critical Acclaim, and Mossip for their great contributions to iPod, no really…

On “Katrina” Jay Electronica gives the listener a sense of melancholy and a bit of desperation, no doubt, two very powerful tools in Jay’s hands.

I was never was a big fan of Jay Rock, but meshing Weezy’s wheezy-ness with pretty much anything, works for me.

Jay Rock – All my Life (ft. Lil’ Wayne)

I am pretty sure this is on the Step Up 2 Soundtrack, so sure I kind of want to watch the first one again. I am not completely into those dance-battle movies, but for some reason, I really liked Step Up, and the soundtrack for Step Up 2 is shaping up very nicely. But hey… another “ella-ella” chorus to enjoy (”ella-ella-elavator,” get it?).

Flo-Rida – Elevator (ft. Timbaland)

This track is a pleasant surprise off the upcoming DJ Clue mixtape, Desert Storm Radio 8: I Am Legend. Clue yells out “Off The Blueprint 3″ at beginning, which could mean that Hov is already at work another album. But, according to MTV News, Jigga’s rep says that there are no plans for a new album in the near future. Damn.

Jay-Z – Ain’t I (prod. by Timbaland)

Chris-Pix flaunts a lowish quality MP3 of Usher’s apparent comeback single, “Love In The Club”.

Speaking of comeback singles, here’s Janet Jackson’s “Feedback” remixed (more like made-longer) by a few Ciara verses. A little too T-Pain for me. But, take a listen anyway.
