12 Oasis/Arctic Monkeys Demos Previously Unfamiliar to Me
This morning 3 new demos that are believed to be product’s of Oasis’ new album have leaked. Along with them, 5 other demos have (re)surfaced. Not being the biggest Oasis fan, I hadn’t heard any of the demos before — and needless to say, the demos are disappearing as quickly as they made their internet rounds. I have them, but they are in m4a format, which shouldn’t be a problem with people on iTunes (and if you don’t have iTunes… well you don’t deserve them anyway).
New Album Demos
Oasis - Stop The Clocks (Demo)
Oasis - They Got Nothing On Me, They Got Nothing On You (Demo)
Oasis - I Wanna Live In A Dream In My Record Machine (Demo)
Death In Vegas Sessions
Oasis - Turn Up The Sun (Demo)
Oasis - The Meaning Of Soul (Demo)
Oasis - Love Like a Bomb (Demo)
Oasis - Eyeball Tickler (Demo)
Oasis - A Bell Will Ring (Demo)
Wiki has limited information on the new demos/new albums. But it does say it is complete and due sometime in September 2008.
Elsewhere in British music…
It’s official. The Arctic Monkeys are back in the studio — shortly after Alex Turner’s side project, The Last Shadow Puppets, have dropped their album to much praise. With news of the Arctic’s third album, backlash as well as new songs have been unearthed. Reading through some Arctic fan forums, you will find live/acoustic versions of ‘Sandtrap’, ‘The Fire and the Thud’. ‘The Lovers’ and ‘Put Me in a Terror Pocket’.
With Favourite Worst Nightmare, the Arctic Monkeys proved that they weren’t capable of sophomore slumps, if anything, the guys were implying that only wit and improvement was to be expected for the band. From writing songs from a middle-aged woman’s sex life to dancefloor dreams, the Arctics seem to never run out of song ideas. The new demos make for a promising third album, but haters will hate.

I never really liked math but… when do you get when you add Spank Rock with Kylie Minogue and multiply it by Benny Blanco? I’ll give you a hint…

I expected the other two but Nothing on Me was a nice little suprised. Sounds a bit too much like ”Dont Believe The Truth” for me so I don’t reckon it’d make the final cut. Stop The Clocks was brilliant, great build up to the end. Record Machine has a bit of a Supernova vibe about it but its just a demo. Can’t wait to see the final articles of them!
