I heard someone say that today \\ I thought it was insanely HIGHlarious, but if you think about it, it’s kind of gross — BUT it does accurately sum up what this post is all about though. Remember when I used to make these longass posts back in the day? I always thought it was fun chronicling the world of pretty much amazing music in one (not so)quick, pain-free post.
I get tons of emails from people telling me they read PMA at least twice a day — one personal actually said he would refresh the page ever-so-often to make sure he caught every update. SRSLY (yay an HRO word) guyz, that’s really and all, but totally unnecessary. For one, you can just subscribe to the daily email sent @ like 5am or whatever random time I set it send. Alternately, I can make this 18-in-One* posts (*I highly doubt it’s really going to be 18-in-One, that was just a sales pitch). BUT I do have a lot of remixes and semi-newly leaked stuff I’d like to share. As I write this, I am contemplating zipping every MP3 I will post today (I think it’s going to be a lot of MP3s), but that might take too much effort. If you want to download a large .zip file instead of “Right Click, Save As…”-ing every track you might want to listen to/download, leave me a comment and express your need for zipped technology.
Alright enough intro stuff, lets get down to it. I wanted to talk about M.I.A first.
We’ve all seemed to forget about that loco choco, that was until we heard the glorious terrorista fabulousness of “Paper Planes” on the equally glorious stoner-tastic Pineapple Express trailer about a month or two ago. Randomly enough, about a week after the movie hit theatres, “Paper Planes” is an OFFICIAL TOP 5 HIT SINGLE in the US. Since Arular’s hugely positive reception by critics and the masses alike, Interscope Records had tried (and failed) to make a commercial hit out of M.I.A. I would think it was obvious that making “Paper Planes” the next stoner anthem (see:”Because I Got High”) would make M.I.A. huge(r). Silly record labels. But really, congrats to M.I.A. for being surrounded by the Rihanna’s and Chris Brown’s and the Jonas Brothers’ of the Top 10 single chart world.
Hawt new DJs, Starters apparently blew it UP in Chicago last night and their new promo mix is out and it’s really killer. One of the new remixes happens to be a “Paper Planes” one. Fantastic.

Alright, so if you are a Britney fan, then you may have already seen those funny VMA promo TV spots (watch Sept 7th! She’ll be there! I know it!).
But probably even more exciting than that is her interview with OK! Magazine — probably her first real interview in a million and seven years. Anyway, the issue is out tomorrow, but here is what Billboard reported yesterday:
Britney Spears says her next Jive album will be out in between six and nine months and that “I think it is more urban,” she says in an interview with OK! Magazine. “I’m writing every day, right here at the piano in this living room. This is my best work ever.”

Here is the non Chemical Brothers remix version of Oasis’ new single “Falling Down”, which is to be featured in Oasis’ new album, Dig Out Your Soul, out Oct 6-7.
– I thought that Jigga’s “Jockin’ Jay-Z” was going to be my favorite rap track of August, but then those fucking fluo kids whipped this one out! Lil Wayne has a knack of making the most nsfw material so damn catchy.
– New Joana Newsom that isn’t exactly riveting but it is enough to keep me wanting more.
– I’ve always liked The Game, he always reminded me of a smarter, smoother, less scary 50 Cent. And now he’s the “Black Liberace”.
– The new Pink song is so hardcore it’s scary. What’s up with her anyway? This is “U + UR Hand” part 2. Big it sounds like it’s really just her and her hand. BTW Pink will kick your ass. Just in case you didn’t already know that.
