New Bloc Party Album, ‘Intimicy’ in 2 Days

Make sure to download the newest episode of the pmaCAST: Looking Better, Shining Brighter Than You Do, featuring Four Tet, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The xx, Yeasayer, Department of Eagles, Hot Chip and more.

Bloc Party
You know what? I can’t honestly say that I’m really excited about the direction Bloc Party has put their music in, as we’ve had a chance to hear in “Flux,” and “Mercury,” but a fan, I am never the less. Bloc Party’s first two albums were just to damn good for me to quit on them just yet. Also, taking a look at the tracklist, songnames like “Trojan Horse,” “Halo,” and Zephyrus” catch my attention. On the up side, I don’t have to wait very long to decide if I like their new album or not because… well, it is out in 2 days. August 21st marks the date Bloc Party’s highly anticipated/dreaded album, Intimicy, will be available on the digital market . The physical CD will be released on October 27th (pre-order). If you order the CD you will also benefit from the digital release on August 21st so that should be the way to purchase it for sure!*

Here’s to In Rainbows and Radiohead for starting this instant-online-gratification trend with today’s music. Oh, and here’s to Bloc Party and their tracklist! Here! Here!

The tracklisting for Intimacy:
1. Ares
2. Mercury
3. Halo
4. Biko
5. Trojan Horse
6. Signs
7. One Month Off
8. Zephyrus
9. Better Than Heaven
10. Ion Square

To my surprise, Intimacy was produced by the duo that produced Silent Alarm and Weekend In The City so the new sound is being developed with a familiar team. It might not be much of a hot mess after all.

  1. I think it will be better the AWINC, and I enjoyed that record quite a bit. I think Flux and Mercury are growers. The new one is supposed to be some experimental Bloc Party, and then some more of the typical Bloc Party that we all loved (ex. Helicopter, So Here We Are).

Hopefully it won’t dissapoint either of us!!

Wow, already? Great. I’m sure these guys will always make great music– experimental or not

  3. new bloc party is sure to not disappoint, but will it measure up to the past 2 albums? not sure…
