New Kanye West – Love Lockdown

Kanye West - Love Lockdown
Last nights’ VMA’s were pretty darn good right? Russell Brand was inappropriately funny, Britney was a star, Jordin Sparks spoke out against sluts, and Kanye West closed the whole show with a brand spankin’ new single of his brand spankin’ new album to drop in December (or something). It all sounds great on paper, but when Kanye went up on stage to unveil his exciting new single, “Love Lockdown,” I held my breath for about 3 minutes and 42 seconds. I was waiting for KanYeezy to jump into a Lupe Fiasco-esque kill-all melodic-to-spittin’ it type transition. Sadly, that moment never came. Instead, we were subjected to some horrendous, drumline-backed, stupid flashing heart equipped, repetitive drivel.

Knowing Kanye (which I don’t), he is no where near finished with the track. If anything (which is likely), he’s cursing the blogs and brave Ye fans that are hating “Love Lockdown,” and returning to the studio to whip something up with… Beyonce? Justin Timberlake? Timaland? Easy hits, a la 50 Cent.

Until a proper high quality version of this song is up, you can sit and wait on this live @ the VMA’s version

  1. Did you guys hear about Kanye getting arrested recently?? I read about it this morning on KIISFM.COM – http://kiisfm.com/cc-common/news/sections/newsarticle.html?feed=104680&article=4226758

I agree with u oogles. Kanye is totally channeling Marvin Gaye ala Here, My Dear. But knowing Kanye he will rework the hell out of the song before the album comes out.

yo luis! why you hating on this song! i absolutely love it!

that 50 Cent bit made me laugh so hard.

  5. i agree, very marvin gaye – and that’s fine. i always thought kanye was a soulful dude, but i still need him to rap a little.

i know this track is only to generate massive net buzz, which it has. i’m still hoping Ye will channel something else other than this weird marvin gaye / t-pain combination.

    disagree.
    very soulful.
    very marvin gaye.
    drumline gave me the chills.

I think Kanye is overusing autotune!

Im definitely not one of those autotune haters, I love the effect; however, this song needs some rap, not just wannabe singing

  8. I was at the show, and the live performance wasn’t that bad.
