Gang Gang Dance's first preview of their upcoming Eye Contact was an eleven minute experimental opus called “Glass Jar” which also happens to be the album opener. The latest cut from the record, though mysterious and afrocentric, is way more accessible, bursting at the seams with colorful synths and disco tendencies, but also as avant-garde and downright weird as you would expect from these guys.
Lead by Lizzi Bougatsos' delirious vocals, “Mindkilla” is mind-boggling and genre bending, a fusion of electronic and distorted beats with a serious hip hop vibe to it, though it's main intention is assuredly to get shit popping and get people dancing. There's so much going on in this song it's impossible not to listen to twice in a row. Eye Contact is out on May 10th via 4AD.
