In the first piece of music Drake has headlined since the release of his generally liked (we weren't as impressed) debut, Thank Me Later, the savvy MC samples Jai Paul's standoffish, brilliant and Rec'd "BTSTU". "Dreams Money Can Buy" comes only a day after the news of Drake working with fellow Torontonians The Weeknd broke.
As the title implies, "Dreams Money Can Buy" does not stray from Thank Me Later's chief subject matters — I'm young and I'm rich (more often than not it's I'm young and rich), but it's this laid-back, profoundly empty core that is the foundation upon which Drake has built a career — an impressive one. And I must say, after spinning the mind-numbing Goblin for a couple of weeks straight, it's a nice change.
