If you were to listen to “Round and Round” without any background information or formal training on Ariel Pink than you would most likely assume it's an obscure, forgotten gem from the 60s. The stand out from Before Today is the first time the artist has created an in-studio track, as loyal fans will attest that all of his previous recordings were bedroom crafted, thus sounding lo-fi and unpolished. “Round and Round” is an exemplification of Pink's Haunted Graffiti era, incorporating wistful soul with a strong use of psychedelia and maintaining a very vintage ambiance thanks to Pink's unconventional falsetto. The hazy guitar strings fronted with a lush communal of luminous voices helps perpetuate, I daresay, the most sensational chorus of 2010.

When touring alongside The Flaming Lips, front-man Wayne Coyne captured some live footage of the collective with his iPhone; with the help of visual artist George Salisbury, the two were able to transform it into quite the spell binding trip. The distorted panorama, vibrant colors and awesome use of visual effects produce this unshakable sense of psychedelia. It coincides with the surreal tone “Round And Round” delivers, a definite must see for drug users.
