I’ll be keeping my Facebook account, but I am really bored of it. The next big thing is going to have to be something completely different because Facebook have really perfected the site.

I would rather use twitter than facebook. And now I even prefer myspace. Facebook’s exterior is so dull, it’s always the same. Problem is that none of my friends have latched on to twitter yet, so I’ll be sticking with Facebook until then.

i’m still undecided, i loved facebook as a means of keeping up with old friends, but i literally joined twitter yesterday, so i’m not sure which one i like more. i’m trying to get my family to all join twitter so we can update each other on our lives more since we’re all so distant and phone phobes…

i still don’t get twitter… why would i want to know what ashton kutcher is doing at 4am? its taking our creepy celebrity obsession (see perez hilton or TMZ) to a whole new level. for me, its facebook. anybody i would follow on twitter would be someone i know personally and in that case why wouldnt i just look at their status on facebook?

I dont use either, or any “social networking” website for that matter. I like music, that’s why I read this blog. I don’t care what all you “hipsters” use for your social networking, just give me my music. Leave this debate for a blog on which it belongs. In fact, for not using social networking websites, I am the ultimate hipster.

i’m totally with Randi being totally with me. Oh, and I am totally with Randi too. Well said.

Carrie, I guess I am just a flawed dude, filled with semi-logical contradictions. The concept of blogging is inherently self-absorbed and I struggle with that fine line between indulging myself and entertaining others. However, I think the legitimacy of blogging HAS increased a lot over the past few years and I am just slow to read the memo. I constantly strive to be a more open and accepting person, even of my own blog (but maybe not of Twitter users. sorry, gotta draw the line somewhere)

hahaa i’m totally with brandon. twitter is purely for stalking, and so is facebook. at least facebook you can TALK to people, while twitter you talk AT people. it’s just a glorified website with facebook statuses, so you know people are eating lunch, watching tv, or something equally boring. i really don’t think there is one person in the world that’s important enough to constantly tell me what they’re doing. until i do, i’m not joining/looking at the site.

I’m confused as to why this is even a debate. Twitter strikes me as the last self-absorbed refuge of those too lonely to actually stalk others, so they imagine that they are worth stalking. What happened to hobbies like stamps, comics, kites, or starting a “legitimate” blog (“legitimate” and “blog” should not be really used in the same sentence, sorry) Facebook is infinitely customizable and can be used for any purpose whereas Twitter is based on the premise that your flatulent thoughts are worth my time. The concept of Twitter goes against everything I view as sacred in human contact. A wise man once said “Distance makes the heart grow fonder.” Amen, brother.

(Sorry if this is all a bit aggressive buts its 2:14 am where I am. And its St Patricks day. Yeah, put 2 and 2 together and you’ve got me nailed.)

I used to love facebook, but now I just go to look at pictures from other peoples’ lives. Other than that, it’s pretty worthless. Twitter, on the other hand, is awesome. Especially if you follow some good people.

I don’t like Facebook because I feel like privacy is a struggle and almost impossible to accomplish on Facebook. It seriously takes about 8 different pages and probably over 24 clicks to disable all of the private/public settings. For that reason, I’ll say Twitter. Plus, I feel like an artist/band can use Twitter to talk directly to fans in a way that Facebook, MySpace, etc. doesn’t work.
