The people that run Coachella, the first major music festival of the year, in the traditional sense, are doing something different this year: they’re having it twice. With a killer line-up that is sure to set the tone for all other music festivals in 2012 (see: Bonnaroo’s nearly identical line-up), music fans now have two times the chance of scoring tickets for the typically sold-out desert party. As part of our Music Festival Preview, we’ve made you a mix of some of our must-see bands at Coachella 2012, including Saturday night’s rock god headliners Radiohead, astral French shoegaze luminaries M83 and the inimitable and unmissable Neutral Milk Hotel frontman Jeff Mangum.
M83 “Raconte-Moi Une Histoire”
Wild Beasts “Reach A Bit Further”
Neon Indian “Polish Girl”
St. Vincent “Cruel”
