We'll be (perhaps inadvisedly) running all over Austin at this year's SXSW, but we'll make sure to take in as many sets as we can at the Hype Machine's 10th annual (!!!) Hype Hotel, presented by Feed the Beat. These guys always have their fingers on the pulse (considering they aggregate the pulse year-round) so you'll likely be able to catch every band on your list if you camp out. The day shows are free and open to everyone, as long as you're over 21 (if you're not, check out sxswunderaged.com for the best of the fest), and while official SXSW badgeholders get priority at night, you'll likely be able to make your way in if you show up early. Alternatively, you can use the hashtags #MazdaSXSW and #HypeON and be entered to win a "Fast Pass" to cut the general admissions line, courtesy Mazda. This year it's all going down at Austin's lovely events space Fair Market over on the East Side, which puts you a little closer to other big events in case you want to party hop. Plus, there's free Taco Bell, Miller Lite, and Tito's Homemade Vodka (cue prayerful hands emoji). We know you're probably already seduced, but read on for our favorite shows going down at the Hype Hotel SXSW week. This year's lineup includes our past-and-present ones-to-watch A. G. Cook, Hinds, GFOTY, Viet Cong, San Fermin, Autre Ne Veut, and Cathedrals, as well as other bands we love, like headliners Spoon, Best Coast, Sophie, Natalie Prass, ILoveMakonnen, Willow Smith, Chastity Belt, and more. It also includes what looks like a DJ set from Carles – yes, the Carles. It'll be easy to catch your favorites, but our long-standing SXSW advice remains the same: stay open to experiencing new things and catching bands you haven't heard of. We'll help out.

Tuesday night, March 17th, if you're not drowning in green beer somewhere across Austin, we like the sound of the genre-busting showcase co-presented by the Syndicate and the Hype Machine, boasting a headlining set from Spoon as well as San Fermin (who rocked PMA's own showcase last year) and Seattle EDM'ers Odesza.

Both Thursday shows at the Hype Hotel are must-attends, so clear your schedule – Consequence of Sound will put on their fourth annual CoSigns party from noon onwards, featuring exciting newcomers Twerps and Viet Cong alongside more established acts like Twin Shadow and King Tuff. And at night, Gorilla Vs. Bear presents their always-great, always-packed yearly party, featuring Chastity Belt, Hinds, Leon Bridges, and a headlining set from Autre Ne Veut, who made us cry at SXSW 2013 (could this mean a new record's in store?) – so don't stray too far in search of your barbecue dinner.

Friday, get ready for what might be SXSW's most bumpin' day party courtesy Disco Naïveté and Crack in the Road, with PC Music's Danny L Harle DJ'ing between sets from fellow pop experimentalists Lydia Ainsworth, Willow Smith, and ILoveMakonnen. Then, to close out the festival for good on Saturday Night, Pigeons and Planes presents Tei Shi, Ryan Hemsworth, and a headlining set from Earl Sweatshirt – we sense this one's gonna get wild, what with SXSW's penchant for special guests.

We sense you've already got your work showcase-selecting cut out for you with all the great parties at the Hype Hotel, but stay tuned – we'll be making it even more difficult in another few days, sharing the best of the fest, from official SXSW gigs to house-show ragers. Stay tuned.
