Last year, we posted two tracks from Pittsburgh’s 1,2,3 and had claimed “these guys are going places,” much like Freelance Whales. Now, exactly one year later, they’ve signed to Frenchkiss Records (the same label Freelance Whales are on!), and are reportedly putting out their debut sometime this year. We’ve just received the first glimpse of said debut with “Riding Coach,” a dreamy, electric guitar driven affair that’s got a bit of a hip hop beat to it, matched with soothing falsettos and hazy synths. Kind of sounds like Foster The People but calmer, and more organic. Told you these guys were going places, download below and see for yourself.

Wow, this sounds very different from those first 2 songs. It’s good, but I’m not sure I like the direction they’re going in, it feels too polished.

i’ve heard the whole record, every song sounds totally different. never fear; you will like the direction they went in.
