We’ve been following Pittsburgh’s 1,2,3 for quite a while now, as they’ve released jam after tantalizing jam (“Riding Coach,” “Heat Lightning”) whether as a free download or in vinyl form. It’s been confirmed that the trio are putting out their debut record New Heaven late next month, and have now released a new song that will appear on it.

According to frontman Nic Synder’s recent interview with Spinner, “Work” is a blue-collar anthem for his fellow people of Pittsburgh: “I painted houses for three years for a small crew that my friend ran. He’s incidentally in jail now because he had a little side action, but, he told me I should write a working class anthem. I said I didn’t know if I could. I still don’t know, but, I wrote this song anyway.” “Work” is a jangly, fuzzy guitar pop ditty, packed with soaring melodies and tambourine chops. Download it below; New Heaven comes out June 21st via Frenchkiss.
