Gigamesh sent this one over last night. Animal Collective’s Merriweather Post Pavilion may as well be the best album of 2009, and “My Girls” is currently sitting at everyone’s top stop for the best song of 2009. It’s always hard to accept a remix of a song this good. When the buzz around “My Girls” was still fresh, a few good remixes popped up and everyone ate it up, but as time passed, it’s become difficult to listen to someone else’s interpretation of Animal Collective’s vision and direction in “My Girls.” Gigamesh’s ‘Proper House’ remix did a great, great job of adding some smooth, danceable beats to “My Girls” without wiping the substance from it. This is actually a pretty cool remix. i agree that it’s hard to remix this song and do it justice (so to speak), but i’m diggin this. gonna check out the other gigamesh stuff as well.
