Ashlee Simpson Get Outta My Head!

Ok, you guys know I had to make some silly pun about the title. As you guys might have heard, AOL Music premiered Ashlee Simpson’s new song “Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)” from her new album Color Outside The Lines. Ashlee’s career (and face) has come a long way from the “punk rock” efforts she released back in 2004. I guess Ashlee finally admitted to herself that she is as punk rock as Avril Lavigne. So she takes after Avril on ‘Ya Ya’ by ripping off poor Toni.

“Hey Mickey you’re so fine, your so fine you blow my mind, hey Mickey, hey Mickey”

Sorry, that’s all I could think of when I heard the throwback 80’s beat!

After listening to this song a couple of times, I have for you, 7 THINGS ABOUT ‘OUTTA MY HEAD’ YOU DIDN’T KNOW BEFORE JUST NOW, THIS SECOND.

1. It does remind me of the 80’s and a lot of the music you hear on 80’s/early 90’s oldies stations. But if I want that I could throw on an old Bangles or the Go-Go’s record. It’s all been done before, just so much better.
2. “Ay Ya Ya Ya Ya”… in Kanye’s immortal words, “I’m like, damn, no way Translate Espanol, no way Jose… are you f***ing kidding me?”
3. Hey… It reminds me of the “Deep House Dish” skits from SNL. Same writers I guess…
4. I could definitely be motivated to clean to this
5. It is officially time for the Electroclash revival. Sigh.
6. There is no way in hell Timbaland had anything to do with this.
7. Ashlee, your voice ain’t pretty, no matter how she uses it … you’re not a singer. Maybe you should move on to something more believable, like fashion like your boy toy.

UPDATE:
