MP3: New Atlas Sound – “Te Amo”

November 8th sees 4AD’s release of Parallax, the new LP from Deerhunter’s prolific frontman, Bradford Cox, better known as Atlas Sound. We absolutely adored Deerhunter’s last outing, 2010’s Halcyon Digest, in no small part because to Brandford’s signature, fragmented vocal delivery.

We heard our first sampling of Parallax in late August with “Terra Incognita”, a lengthy, acoustic number that sounded as if it could have been left off of Halcyon Digest. Our second taste of the album, “Te Amo”, arrived today and its more tuneful and less disjointed than “Terra”, taking cues from Cox’s last solo album, Logos.

Expect more sneak peaks of Parallax before November 8th comes around. Download “Te Amo” below:

Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
