Sinister synthheads Cold Cave have chosen an unusual band to reinterpret in Belle and Sebastian, but do an absolutely incredibly job in transforming “I Didn’t See It Coming,” the newest single from the band’s most recent Belle and Sebastian Write About Love, from a soft indie ballad into a mysterious, ominous sounding electro pop banger.

The song will be released on a vinyl-only 12” from Belle and Sebastian called Come On Sister. Cold Cave frontman Wes Eisold had released a statement saying that the duo have held a special place in his heart, and that they were excited to do the mix. They’ve also just put out a “Songs for Summer” mixtape. Check out “I Didn’t See It Coming” (remix) below; Come On Sister drops July 26th via Matador.
