Blog Wars: The Genius Playlist | Round 2, Battle 1

Click on the turntable on the left to listen to a continuous stream of music featured on Pretty Much Amazing - updated every day. For more, you can check out the Best Songs of 2011, or our Best Albums of 2011.

On the last battle of Round 1, Music Is Art took PMA on. They were a worthy adversary — one that almost got us beat! But in the end, PMA won with 51% of the votes (by the smallest margin yet!). Now, now, I won’t say much because I’m sure plenty of people are ready to tell me that PMA won because of the “homefield advantage.” Maybe so, eh?

But what’s done is done so let’s move one the the Second Round of this Blog War! To remind you all, the blogs that made it were: Sheena Beaston, We All Want Someone, Nialler9, The Culture of Me, and Pretty Much Amazing. Because Sheena Beaston beat Pigeons and Planes by the biggest margin (26%), she get’s a freebie this round and is automatically placed in the finals. The last battle will be a Winner-Takes-All style threesome — the winner will be our Blog Champion.

Also trying to secure a spot in the finals are Nialler9 and The Culture of Me who are both in this rumble, fighting to the tune of “Voyager” by Daft Punk. A classic, indeed. Enough talk, let’s bring the Genius Playlists out.

~ Over and over and over and over and over — just like the monkey with a miniature symbol. The joy of repetition really is in me. ~
The Culture of Me for the win!

Run Into Flowers (Midnight Fuck Remix) – M83 is total slouch edit job of a really amazing track from early 07' by Dopplebanger (M83 vs Aphex Twin vs Khia – Pussylicker (by Dopplebanger).mp3).

You can still hear the Aphex Twin hooks in his edit.
