A while back we posted “Dinner” from Dev Hynes (a.k.a. Lightspeed Champion) and his Blood Orange project and also announced that the singer/songwriter would be putting out his debut full length under that moniker, Coastal Grooves, sometime this year. Well, the date has now been confirmed, August 1st via the ever-loving British powerhouses, Domino, and he’s released first single, “Sutphin Boulevard,” which he’s giving away for free.
Hynes claims that the record will cover a diverse collection of genres, though primarily focus on 80s revival, r&b, and pop. All of which are found on the beach friendly “Sutphin Boulevard,” a sultry, dreamy ballad that brings Hot Chip to mind. Cop it below.
