It’s been a long while since we’ve heard anything from folklore Conor Oberst’s esteemed Bright Eyes. After several solo stints and his part in Monsters Of Folk, the indie Kingpin announced in November that the band was returning to the spotlight with their forthcoming LP, The People’s Key. They are giving away first single “Shell Games” for free , and as Oberst had previously suggested, it’s pretty contrastive of their usual M.O., and nothing like 2007′s Cassadaga, experimenting with synth pop, electric guitar riffs, group chants and some vivacious drumming. The People’s Key comes out on Conor’s birthday, February 15, 2011.
