“Kill The Lights” is the second tangible piece of evidence of the validity of Britney Spears’ comeback. There have been many fakes running around the internet over the last few weeks, but the real deal has just leaked. Listen to Britney’s already infectious “Kill The Lights” below.
Britney Spears – Kill The Lights
“Kill The Lights” was produced by Danja aka Nate Hills, who was responsible for Blackout’s successful lead single “Gimme More.” The new song starts off with Danja proclaiming Pop Princess Britney Spears is “now Queen of Pop,” right before a sizzling bass, strings, and breakbeats kick into action.Â
The song’s content is somewhat reminiscent of her VMA breakthrough single “Piece of Me,” in that she’s calling the media out, more specifically paparazzi, thought this time she’s not so in-your-face about it.Â
This is the song I’ve been waiting to hear. “Womanizer” is a great song, and a great first-single choice, but it wasn’t another “Toxic” or “Slave 4 U.” “Kill The Lights” is just that much closer. Maybe Circus will have people calling Britney the Queen of Pop soon.
PS: Hey Jive! The song leaked, I don’t know if it was intentional or not… but hey, who cares? Release the song on iTunes and reap the benefits and hopefully another Top 10 single! It worked for Lil Wayne, the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, and T.I. This isn’t exactly rocket surgery science.
