Calling All Producers & DJs: Music Remix Contest music mp3 giveaways feature

ALL SUBMISSIONS DUE BY NOON ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 4TH

Think you have some mad skills? Do you want to be featured on PMA? Would you like to have your own DJ mixes featured on the blog weekly? Then you should probably remix Gifted’s “Music.” Read on…

PMA faithfuls: last week I featured a contest for an Alessi Kaj watch, the first contest in a while, and the response was overwhelming! I figured we may as well keep the contests going, only this time with what we know best: music!

Well, “Music” to be exact. If you haven’t noticed, I’ve taken a strong liking to Gifted, a band that I believe has a very bright future. I was most recently captivated by their club jam, “Come With Me”, but “Music” is the song that initially caught my attention.

So here’s the deal. “Music” is an excellent record, but it’s not going to make it on playlists next to the electro bangers during the peak of the night at the hottest nightclubs. We need to change that and this is where YOU come in. Below you’ll find an acapella version of the song (as well as the original version for reference). You have ONE WEEK to put together a “Music” remix that is Pretty Much Amazing caliber and email it giftedoutside@gmail.com with REMIX CONTEST in the subject line.

What’s in it for you?

  • FREE advance copy of the upcoming album Presence
  • Personal video announcement from Gifted
  • Pretty Much Amazing will post your remix
  • Pretty Much Amazing will post a song of your own
  • A shot @ hosting your own WEEKLY party podcast/mix at Pretty Much Amazing! (more and more PMA exposure)

Now get to work! Whether you’re an aspiring musician looking to get your name out there or one who is already known looking to prove your mastery of remixes, DO NOT let this opportunity pass you up. Thousands of people are already listening to Gifted and they’ll be listening to you too if your remix is good enough. Show us what you’re made of and send it to giftedoutside@gmail.com and maybe you’ll see your name on a Pretty Much Amazing headline next week (and the week after that, etc). Good luck!

Hey, I`m not going to win or probably even submit my remix, but im curious about trying to make one and I have some pretty nice ideas for making “Music” more upbeat. Does anyone out there know some free software for mash-ups or remixes, preferably where I could just import an instrumental and acapella line and mess with the tempos, etc. Something easy to use. Anyone have any suggestions?

Wait.. you don’t even have the proper tools to make a remix, but you’re planning on entering?

Rick, why waste time dissing when you could be three minutes deep into the track on your “proper tools”? Looking forward to your remix *wink*

Hey rick im not pretending I`m professional, I`m actually not planning on entering unless it ends up really good just asking because I`m interested in trying to make a remix.

“Music” is 140 BPM, time is 4/4. 70 BPM is correct in half time.
