It’s been a hot minute, but I’m here to present a brand new Chiddy Bang track! “Pro’s Freestyle” can be found on Xaphoon Jones‘ upcoming mixtape. For those of you who don’t know, Xaphoon is the mastermind behind Chiddy Bang’s tight production and signature sampling. The Chiddy Bang producer will release his mixtape, The Xaphoon Jones Mixtape Vol. 1 exclusively through Pretty Much Amazing on September 1st.
Aside from this slick new Chiddy Bang track, The Xaphoon Jones Mixtape features original remixes and mashups of big names like MGMT, Radiohead, Kanye West, Passion Pit and classics like Bob Marley, Led Zepplin, and Marvin Gaye.
This mixtape pushes my growing interest in B-more club music, infusing it effectively with old-school Motown and modern hits, this side of Pitchfork.

What do you mean you don’t get it? What is there not to get? It’s a song. You listen to it, and in some cases you enjoy. Now as far as it being horrible, keep in mind this is part of a mixtape and is a freestyle. Basically meaning it’s not in a traditional song format. If you take a listen, the production of the song, however, is really amazing. If you’re not convinced Chiddy Bang isn’t up and coming, check out some of their older songs released. ex. Because, Fresh Like Us, and Day and Night (Chiddy Bang Remix)
