Childish Gambino’s racked up a handful of impressive guests to feature on his new mixtape Royalty, but legendary hip-hop firestarter Prodigy drops a verse on a new leak called “Body,” a creepy-sexy slower jam, that didn’t quite make the cut.
That minimalist, guitar-heavy beat (based on a sample from Portishead’s “Elysium”) reminds us of ‘90s hip-hop and works as a perfect, inobtrusive blank slate for Gambino and Prodigy to playfully butt heads with witty, interwoven verses. We’re not sure why this one didn’t make the final cut; it’s really awesome. Check it out – Royalty is out now.
