it’s a tossup…. either my partner in mix-tape crime of the last 15 years (we might singlehandedly be keeping the usps afloat) anna, who will undoubtedly appreciate it -OR- to another friend who has abominable taste in music and needs to be exposed to decent music asap. yeah, anna would probably win that coin toss, the other might be a lost cause.

I’d give it to my friend Ali. I still have a series of mixed tapes that she made me over twenty years ago! The tapes live in my car and I still love listening to these great tunes. These mixes tell the story of our thirty-year old friendship, our youth and our timeless taste in music!
I’d give my mixtape to my flatmate sarah who NEEDS music. In every sense of the word. I’d load it with my current favourite 10 albums, which can be found at http://www.last.fm/user/sirneilglen on the right hand side.
I’d give it to my mom because she’d have no idea what it is and then my dad would complain that the drive is too cumbersome and doesn’t hold enough memory.

i would give it to myself because i am a poor college student who is broke and needs extra flash space because the hard drives on both my computers always crashe and the job i have been at for three years cut my hours so i can’t replace them and i was born in 1980 and can fully relate to a mix tape and a tape in general! yay! thanks.

If I were to win this competition for a mixtape, I believe that in my heart, I would truly be in utter disarray! There are so many people on my list of ‘people to give gifts to that need them’ I would not know who would be the most qualified and deserving person of this splendiferous gift. So, I am going to list the top 5 candidates who would bathe in the riches of this mixtape flash drive if I win:
5. My neighbor, who most recently was diagnosed with chlamydia. For those of you who don’t know what this terrible and life threatening (as far as sex life goes) disease this is, think…. clams. Basically, ITS TERRIBLE! He would use this mixtape to download easter music for the upcoming holiday. hollaaaa.
4. The dean of admissions at Cal Lutheran. Being on his’/her’s good side is a must! It would be phantasmigoric considering a friend applied there and well… it would be a lot easier than giving sexual favors for a shoe in !
3. Brian O’Connell. This kid exists somewhere with a pseudo-disease and has applied for a make-a-wish foundation wish. It is imperative that he receives the mixtape before he dies…. because, well… quite frankly…. nothing is sweeter than a mixtape that plugs into your USB drive. AND HE WANTS IT! NOW!!! BEFORE HE DIES!!!
2. Santa Claus. He goes around giving gifts to people worldwide all night and what does he get in return!? Some whole milk and chocolate chip cookies. That only make his belly FAT. youuuuuu asshooloolleessssss.
