Unless you can pull an awesome cover off!
Time for your weekly dose of covers. This week was a little stale, but I managed to scoop out a few goodies from the vaults.
(The) Arcade Fire – Brazil (Bossonova cover)
This is a b-side from the “Rebellion (Lies)” era. It’s one of my favorites — I can’t believe I haven’t posted it yet. I always hear great things about it when I play it for other people.
Stereophonics – Best Of You (Foo Fighters cover)
This is a spunky cover of the rocklistic Foo Fighters classic courtesy of BBC’s Radio 1. It’s utterly fantastic.
Spoon – Rocks Off (Rolling Stones cover)
Spoon closed a San Francisco show at the Fillmore with this Rolling Stones tune. Here’s an exceptionally good live rip of the show.
Little Boots – Bring It On (Leon Jean Marie cover)
Here’s another fantastic cover by Little Boots — possibly better than her Hot Chip cover.
Banjo or Freakout – Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa (Vampire Weekend cover)
Alessio Natalizia (aka Banjo or Freakout) rids — Vampire Weekend favorite — “Cap Cod…” of it’s upper east side twang and gives it a dark and ominous Radiohead feel to it. Seriously one of the best covers I’ve heard this year — should we expect a record soon?

Great load of covers this week, Luis.
I’m particularly feeling the last one. It’s quite amazing.
I’m really glad Cover Tuesday is back! I didn’t believe you last time! I usually love Arcade Fire’s covers — this week was no different. They’re so good! For a second Brazil almost sounded
Great batch of covers! I am loving Little Boots’ covers more and more every time you post them!
Spoon and Arcade Fire are my favorite cover artists — their covers are always above par.
Amazing, I’m especially loving the Stereophonics one. But unfortunatelly the song skips (for me) at 1:53 and 2:07. Anyone else got this problem/any chance to get this great piece of music without ‘em?
They all work for me..
I dunno what the problem could be.
I downloaded it a second time and it still got the same skips at the same passages. This is the first time I downloaded a MP3 from this blog that has skips, and seeing as it seems to work for you that’s weird. Oh well, too bad.
DUde,
Rocks Off is NOT NOT NOT a Rolling Stones Song.
nice!
