“Magnificent” is probably the biggest understatements of 2009. Dent May, signed to Animal Collective’s Paw Tracks label, released his full-length debut record, The Good Feeling Music of Dent (another ridiculous understatement) in early February 2009. Shame on me for not picking up on this fella sooner, in spite of discovering him on Rawk Blog in NOVEMBER.

Like they say, there’s no time like the present, and I’m here now to say that there’s very little I don’t like about Dent May. His debut album is packed with irresistible melodies and harmonies, silly and creative songwriting and, of course, that magnificent uke!

“Love Song 2009,” is one of my favorite songs from Dent’s debut record. Not only are all of the qualities that make Dent’s music so great are definitely present here — they’re pumped on steroids!  Listen to “Love Song 2009″ here.

I love this album but I have to say that “You can’t force a dance party” or “26 Miles” are probably my 2 favorites. The more I listen the more I think that this is in my top 20 fav albums of the year. Good stuff.

Those are great, but there’s something about this song that I adore. :) and you’re right, what a great album.
