MP3: Dent May – “Holiday Face”

This has to be, by far, my favorite Christmas tune of the season. Unlike his usual repertoire for the Paw Tracks label, fixated with the use of one magnificent ukelele, Dent May’s new, festive “Holiday Face” is exploding with radiant synth textures and robust electro pop flavor. Like his most recent “Eastover Wives,” “Holiday Face” is jovial and dance friendly, May’s Damon Albarn like vocals sweetly transcending as the bass grooves to its own habitat. 80’s pop-rock, disco and U.K. influences are all palpable on this gleeful tune that celebrates Christmastime. May claims a new album is in the works, stay tuned.
