Brooklyn native has drummed in three of the best reverb-soaked lo-fi bands her borough has to offer, but now she’s taking frontwoman duties and cleaning up her act for the upcoming Interstellar.

And we mean “cleaning up” literally – based on the singles Frankie’s released to date from the record, she’s eschewed those opaque masks of reverb, scuzz, and guitar chug in favor of crystal-clear new-wave / post-punk neatness. Check out her latest offering “Night Swim” – both her voice and those knife-sharp layers of winding, bright guitar are largely unprocessed, and that makes the track all the more fascinating, refreshing, and re-listenable. Interstellar is out February 21.
