Free Energy – Something In Common + Tour Dates

“Something in Common” is the b-side on ’s eponymous debut single. DFA is selling a super limited 7″ on their online store. “Free Energy,” along with the summer jams “Dream City” and “Dark Trance” will be found (hopefully) on Free Energy’s forthcoming debut album, Stuck on Nothing.

With “Something In Common,” the Free Energy boys continue to channel the Strokes while still managing to sound completely fresh and exciting (hey, nice bassline). Albeit not as fresh and exciting as the A-track, “Free Energy.” I heard these Philly natives put on a great show at After The Jump fest, and will be hitting a couple of CMJ stages in NYC in October. But fret not non-NYers, Free Energy is on tour and is prepping a brand spankin’ new EP, which will be sold on tour and online. Before I show you the tour dates, check out “Something In Common”

Free Energy is probably one of my favorite new artists of the year. Any word on when their album will be out?

It's weird how these guys can tour the US and UK with only 3 or 4 songs out on the internet lol, theyre not even huge buzz bands like Vampire Weekend or Passion Pit. I like them though. Very Strokes-y.

Haha, I feel the same way. They're doing the strokes better than Jules
himself.
