Freelance Whales‘ new Mountain Dew approved single, “Enzymes” takes the band in the direction the young band explored briefly on their winning debut album, Weathervanes. “Enzymes” is pretty spare for the usually lush Freelance Whales; and while some of their more charming, folksier instrumentation will be missed (by fans of the “Generator” couple especially), the saccharine radiance and allure of Freelance Whales is certainly not lost.
