I really like bands that are upfront of what they are and don’t pretend to be anything else but themselves. Having said that, I really like Fun., because they are honest to themselves and are exactly what they claim to be. Back in February we told you all that You Oughtta Know Fun, and today we’re giving you one more reason.

In their debut single, “At Least I’m Not As Sad (As I Used To Be),” Fun draw in plenty of swagger and influence from Freddie Mercury. A single listen will instantly bring “Bohemian Rhapsody” into mind, while still sounding fresh.

This is, without a doubt, the most fun I’ve had in a while with a single song. Their debut album, Aim and Ignite will be out on August 25th. Give Fun a listen after the jump.

Honestly, my prediction: this will be one of the best pop-rock albums of the decade. Dog Problems was up there for sure, and I have a feeling that he’ll top it with Fun, based off of this track and Benson Hedges, two of my fave ’09 songs.

It sounds like that “Mika” record from a few years ago.

“Grace Kelly” — really? I don’t hear it at all.

I think BK means more the general feel of that album…the overall happiness and over-the-top feel.
