Future Unlimited are making cool, Balearic-inflected, rave-y chillwave out of one of the last places you might expect – the landlocked country music capital (and recent garage rock mecca) of Nashville, Tennessee. But new single “Lightweight Eyes” has them poised to do big things regardless – with its throbbing bass pulse, strobelit, dizzyingly panning synths (put your headphones on!), and echo-laden vocals, it reminds us of recent indie-electro outings from bands like Lemonade and Washed Out. It’s a hypnotic, addictive cut that should soundtrack your rainy, neon-lit late nights.
