Mr. Fyfe Dangerfield is giving me a lot to look forward to in 2010. “She Needs Me” is the second offering (I’m assuming) from Dangerfield’s upcoming debut solo album, Fly Yellow Moon. Go here if you haven’t heard Fyfe’s infectious debut single “When You Walk In The Room”.

On the chipper “She Needs Me”, Fyfe sounds like Jeff Tweedy’s long lost cousin. If fact, “She Needs Me” is the closest thing to a orchestral-pop Wilco song as we’re ever going to get.

Fyfe Dangerfield’s album may be out in January, but these tunes were made for the spring.

I’ve been in love with Fyfe since I first heard “When You Walk In The Room”. Can’t wait to hear the rest of his album.

Oh does this mean Guillemots broke up?

No, I believe he’s just taking a break to work on a solo album.

So nice! I saw that you just posted Monarchy too… did you know Monarchy remixed THIS Fyfe song? Weird coincidence.

Not a great a hook as “I want you endlessly”, but still very very nice. Let’s hope Fly Yellow Moon is better than Guillemot’s work.

Very 70s and 80s, I like it! And you’re SO RIGHT about that Jeff Tweedy reference. Especially in the first minute of the track.

I’m no expert like you, or anything, but I’m sure we’ve had an orchestra-pop Wilco song before. There are a couple of them on their new album, no?

I hope Fyfe uses this album to get all of that retro 80′s 70′s vibe that bogged down a lot the Guillemots 2nd album. It’s good in parts, but I hope he finds refinds the tone he set in the Guillemots 1st album that made it so great
