Gilbere Forte’ (pronounced jil-bear) is another buzzing new Hip Hop artist to coming out of Philly with a taste for delectable indie tunes. As if my kindred spirit, Gilbere decided to introduce himself to me with Freelance Whales-sampling “1st Floor”. Gilbere isn’t just another fad-sampling hip hop “artist” though, “1st Floor” was produced by Passion Pit’s very own Aislyn, if you needed a reason to legitimize “1st Floor”. The record is off of Gilbere Forte’s forthcoming debut mixtape, 87 Dreams. Download it below:

The rapping is average at best, but the beat and the sampling are very well done. Hope he has some better lines on his mixtape, there’s potential!
