Tom Krell’s r&b deconstructionist project How To Dress Well has garnered a wad of praise since his debut Love Remains dropped last year, most notably for taking a profound soul and even pop sensibility and morphing it into grainy, lo-fi, yet mysteriously beautiful work. The most haunting and ethereal track he’s created thus far remains to be “Ready For The World,” a slowly moving, bass conspicuous jam which combines bedroom pop and r&b vocals into one sensational jam.

Now, we’ve just received a new rendition of the song from remix enthusiast and U.K. beatsmith Star Slinger, who already has a healthy catalogue of remixes under his belt including Morning Benders, Deerhunter, Broken Social Scene and Gold Panda. Customary to Star Slinger’s modus operandi, he maintains the premise of “Ready For The World” – with its wistful exquisiteness and luxurious vocals – and adds a ton of beats, bass and in this case, a serious dubstep punch.
