Now and then I like to mix up how I run things ’round here, Pretty Much Amazing. If you’ve been here for a few months, you may have caught the blog in a phase where I liked to mash one day’s worth of posts into one, extra-large post. I want to give that another crack.
Why? I guess you can say I’m not a huge fan of the monotonous life. This blog started out as a fun hobby, I’ll be damned before I let my hobby become monotonous.
Enough ranting, let jump into the music. I have some great mp3s for everyone including The Roots doing Weezy’s “A Milli”, Three (3) New WALE songs, and a KILLER Kanye West remix. Yeah, I bet you really wanna click that link down there, huh?
This may help you find what you want. But seriously, why won’t you just read the whole post?
Table of Contents
Lil Wayne & The Roots - A Milli (Live)
WALE - Nike Boots (ft. Lil Wayne) / 5 Minutes / M.I.A. Boyz Remix

Top 10 Singles in the World

Last Wednesday night in Miama, FL Lil Wayne joined Questlove and the rest of the Roots on stage. It was killer.
Here’s a tweet from Q’s Twitter:
many things i can do on my day job and 90% of you seen em: talk and jokes while drumming, pick my hair and bandlead, penalize frank or the guilty party and not lose the beat, even blogged and posted on okayplayer.com while drumming
girlfriend once made me a sandwich and i dropped nary a crumb while i played 16th notes
but ladies and gents…a first in my 20 years as a Root….i got stumped, i cannot drum and sing “AMILLIEAMILLE AMMILLIEAMILAMILAMILAMIL AMILLIE AMILLIE AMILLE AMMILLIE” at the same time, never in my life have i ever prayed for a moment to pass. i can do 200 crunches w/o bitching even deal w/ moms crying i dont call her enough, but i really thought i couldn’t make it through this song without turning purple. much thanks to Weeze for holding us down.
Lil Wayne & The Roots - A Milli [thnx and <3 to SDSU]

I really can’t get enough of this WALE. Maybe it’s the whole “long e” thing — I mean, I really like Lupe Fiasco too.
For whatever reasons I have to do so, I am really shitting my pants in anticipation for Wale’s upcoming studio album. I was flying high when I found out that this D.C. boy is featured in another “Boyz” remix. M.I.A. is really hitting up some of my favorite MCs for this tune. As if that wasn’t enough, Wale also leaked a track off his newest mxtape called LRG x Wale x 9th Wonder Presents: Back to the Feature. This is only for hip hop lovers. You want that bullshit, turn the radio on. Word. Oh, I’m also throwing in a remix of “Nike Boots” with Lil Wayne.
M.I.A. & Wale - Boyz
Wale - 5 Minutes

Apparently Holy Fuck and Foals are both covering each other on a new 12″ Holy Fuck is selling on their European tour. You can download two hella huge (umm, 50MB wtf?) files if you’re a quality nerd here. Or you can download a not-so-HD but pretty good, and small mp3 file of Holy Fuck covering Foals below.
Holy Fuck - Balloons (Foals cover)

Who the fuck are Sophia Fresh?
Grammy–Nominated, Multi-Platinum Producer / Songwriter / Artist, T-Pain’s new sensational female group, “Sophia Fresh” combines three young women united through their friendship, true love for music, and entertainment. The Atlantic Records executive who signed the girls, Mike Caren, wanted a name that separated them from the pack of female groups. So after true diligence, the girl’s and camp came up with “Sophia Fresh” - a name to describe their southern flavor and pristine sound.
- Sophia Fresh’s Last.fm page.
You can download “What It Is” if you want, but let me warn you: it is really boring. Not even Kanye’s verse could save this song — but it tries diligently.
Sophia Fresh ft. KanYe West - What It Is

White Folks Get Crunk poses this simple question: Is this really the future of music? Artist releases song on the internet to see if it buzzes before he drops the video and in the meantime 800 DJs remix it?
Let’s break this down: Britney Spears’ Womanizer saw it’s video release last night on 20/20 — remix count? Well over a dozen.
Kanye West premiered his video for “Love Lockdown” on Ellen’s show earlier this week — remix count? Hypem loads three (3) pages when you search “Love Lockdown Remix“
I’m sure not even Justice could get results like this. For now, this “future of music” theory seems to be reserved for worldwide spectecals that are mascarading themselves as ordinary recording artists (like Britney and KanYe).
All that aside — let’s start working on a fourth page for the “Love Lockdown” remixes!
Kanye West - Love Lockdown (Shades ZZ Top Remix)
I’ve always been interested in the music charts — I keep tabs on the happenings of America’s music charts via Idolator’s fantastic column, 100 and Single written by chart guru Chris Monalphy. But much more interesting is the Global Track Chart, which monitors the top songs in the world.
This week on the Global Track Chart, Pink’s “So What” jumped over Rihanna’s “Disturbia” and the 7 week champion Katy Perry and her “I Kissed A Girl.” There really isn’t anything new on the chart — oh, except for T.I. and Rihanna’s massive, record-breaking hit “Live Your Life,” debuting on the big chart at No. 5 (though it jumped 80-1 in the US, allowing T.I. to make history twice in 2 months).
Every other song in the Top 10 either stayed stationary or dipped a bit. Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown” fell out of the Top 10 this week.
#. Artist. Song Title. (Last Week’s Position) (Sales)
1. Pink - So What (LW. No. 3) (390.000) **No. 3 in America**
2. Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl (LW No. 1) (334.000) **No. 36 in America**
3. Rihanna - Disturbia (LW No. 2) (325.000) **No. 4 in America**
4. Coldplay - Viva La Vida (LW No. 4) (283.000) **No. 22 in America**
5. T.I. ft. Rihanna - Live Your Life (DEBUT) (266.000) **No. 1 in America**
6. Kid Rock - All Summer Long (LW No. 6) (200.000) **No. 34 in America**
7. Ne-Yo - Closer (LW No. 5) (198.000) **No. 12 in America**
8. T.I. - Whatever You Like (LW No. 7) (193.000) **No. 2 in America**
9. Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up (LW No. 9) (179.000) **No. 50 in America**
10. Jason Mraz - I’m Yours (LW No.
(177.000) **No. 16 in America**
I guess it’s sort of comforting to know that yesterday’s hits (”I Kissed A Girl,” “Viva La Vida,” “When I Grow Up” are still seeing some action overseas.

For the record — Pink’s single is fantastically catchy! It’s good NOT to see Katy Perry or Rihanna @ #1, to be honest.
