Here is a new Kendrick Lamar joint called “The Art of Peer Pressure,” a slight nod at OutKast’s Aquemini couplet, “Da Art of Storytellin’.” Does it hold a place in Kendrick’s upcoming major label debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city? We can’t be sure, but we aren’t against the idea. In fact, we’d be thrilled. It’s a well articulated, thoughtful and mature performance on Kendrick’s part, dazzling us not with his proven technical prowess, but with the fully realized depth of his lyricism. good kid, m.A.A.d city is out October 22.
