Labyrinth Ear is the project of two young Londoners, Tom and Emily – they work together to produce their music’s shifting, undulating patterns, before Emily lays down gorgeous, often-distorted vocals on top. Comparisons to Purity Ring are obvious, but only really scratch the surface of what these two are capable of: Labyrinth Ear go at a similar breed of post-apocalyptic, futuristic pop from an underground, industrial direction that’s dark, metallic, and hypnotic. We’re psyched to premiere “Urchin,” a new single from the duo that sounds almost like a lost Chromatics track, what with that mesmerizing, shuddering bass and ghostly edited vocals.
