The number one single in the country (for the last 4 weeks) right now has just received the remix treatment from none other than disco/new wave enthusiast George Lewis Jr. aka Twin Shadow. Removed are the happy synth samples, the Gaga pop construction, the uplifting cadence, the overall radio friendly mentality. Hello, dirty bass, riveting electro riffs, disco revival and an overall sinister ambiance. Wicked.
The track is very much Twin Shadow, the drum patterns in particular bring his debut Forget to mind, but as it progresses it shares more with Gaga, becoming brighter, joyous, and gets your hands in the air. Update: We just got word from Twin Shadow’s label that this version of the remix is not the final cut.
