Technically, this track called a “remix”, but after hearing it a few times through, I’ve come to the conclusion that High Contrast’s version of “Born Free” (watch epic music video) has overcome the cumbersome tag of “remix”.
What Welsh producers, High Contrast have done with “Born Free” is not make it dance-floor friendly, or re-imagine it as a Dubstep/Justice/Daft Punk tribute, but employ very few clandestine elements that all together work towards bettering an admittedly unexceptional M.I.A. track. They call it “a lil drum n bass/surf remix”.

I dig the subtly in the changes. It sounds a lot more interesting than the original, I’ll give you that.
M.I.A.’s “Born Free” is a KICK ASS song!
This version is cool, but it drags the pace.
Play them one after the other, and in my musical opinion it is not even close!
