Aside from Dan Bejar (Destroyer, New Pornographers), Spencer Krug is probably the most prolific and actively working Canadian musician around. He is not only the frontman of much loved bands Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown, but he’s also a member of Swan Lake and Frog Eyes, all of which (except for the latter) have released albums quite recently.
Last year he released a single-track EP under a brand new solo moniker, Moonface, with the 20 minute long “Marimba and Shit-drums.” Now it’s been confirmed that Krug is dropping a full length as Moonface this summer, and has released the first single “Fast Peter” to provide a taste of the forthcoming album.
The song is lengthy, ample in synths and electronic resonance, and backed with Krug’s signature vocals. What else could you ask for? The ridiculously titled Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I’d Hoped drops August 2nd on Jagjaguwar.
