Donald Glover a.k.a. Childish Gambino has been tearing shit up lately, riding the success of his heavily blogged about “Freaks and Geeks,” which can be found on his most recent EP. The rapper/actor/songwriter is no stranger to covering and revamping current pop tunes, this time taking Kanye‘s “All Of The Lights” and seriously making it his own.
Not only is the beat transformed and more chilled out (it even samples Beach House’s “Zebra”!), but Glover’s rhymes are spot on, as always: “Donald Glover, you don’t have to call me childish, except for when I’m flirting with your half-Latino stylist.” The soon to be superstar is set to embark on his IAMDONALD tour next week; if he’ll be dropping by your city, it would definitely be worth while to check him out.
