’s Jack Tatum has graduated out of the bedroom and into a real recording studio. Our first taste of the new Wild Nothing sound came this morning with “Nowhere,” featuring the sedated vocals of ’s Andrea Estella. Tatum’s ace guitar work is just as jangly as we remember and his pop songcraft just as immediate, but we can’t seem to shake the feeling that we’re listening to a new Pains of Being Pure at Heart track.

Captured Tracks will release the “Nowhere” single on February 21. The song will be backed with a second new song called “Wait.” Both songs will preview Wild Nothing’s sophomore LP, which is expected to arrive later this year. Listen to and download “Nowhere” below:

PORCELAIN RAFT

Porcelain Raft’s jockeying between maximalist, synthesized chamber indie, hazy dance music, borderline art-dubstep chopped-and-screwed beats and drones, and mixtape-closing reverby guitar pop make Strange Weekend endlessly compelling, fascinatingly layered, and never predictable.
