If you’re a fan of the Norwegian electronic outfit known as Royksopp, than you’re aware that they have a Track Of The Month program going on, destined to give their fans b-sides and unreleased gems for free! January’s track came a bit late, a grainy, lo-fi fused instrumental called “Stronghold” that predates their debut LP, Melody A.M.
The drum beat gives it a bit of a hip hop vibe, and all the other sounds in place are subtle and faint. After releasing last year’s Senior, which consisted of sinister instrumental vibes and mysterious themes, the track is quite fitting, and completely unlike any of the electro-pop that made up their highly likeable Junior.
