During the last three years we’ve heard little from conscious MC Talib Kweli. Than last month he dropped “Cold Rain” from his upcoming Gutter Rainbows LP and it’s been non stop Kweli since. A few days ago he released The Community Tape alongside his Blacksmith Crew and now put out “Back It Up,” a slightly tweaked instrumental from Llyod Banks’ “Start It Up,” the first track from his upcoming mixtape Southern Smoke, Northern Lights. The mixtape will feature only Southern artists including Yelawolf, Three 6 Mafia and Slim Thug and will be released next week. In addition, the rapper is dropping two studio full lengths in 2011, including the aforementioned Gutter Rainbows (out Jan 25th) and Prisoner of Consciousness (no confirmed date yet).
